"Dancing Through the Decades"

~ Rehearsal ~ Rehearsal will be at Colony High School in Ontario on Thursday, June 11th AT 5 pm for both shows. Dancers must wear the ATD recital shirt and black bottoms for uniformity. Please see the front desk to pre-order your official 2009 ATD recital shirt. There will be no classes at the studio on this day.
~ Tickets ~ Tickets will be available at the front desk of the studio beginning Tuesday, May 19th at 10:00 A.M. They are $12 each. Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis, and there is no limit. Tickets are general admission, and will be available for both shows.
~ Order of Performance ~ For your convenience the order of performance for each show will be avilable here so that you may purchase your tickets accordingly.
~ Costumes, Tights, Shoes ~ Costumes will be handed out the beginning of June as they arrive. Please refer to the information below for details on whether your tights are included with your costume, and what tights you will have to purchase from Bella Dancewear. Also, the shoes that you will need will be listed for each dance.
~ Makeup & Hair ~ Makeup is uniform for all dancers. Please keep in mind that the stage lighting is very bright, so you will have to apply your makeup heavily. Eye makeup is to your liking, dark blush, and red lipstick. Each teacher's preference for hairstyle is listed below.
~ Recital Pictures ~ We will be taking pictures of all dances in the recital on Saturday, June 6th. Times and order of pictures will be posted shortly. Costumes will need to be worn with tights, shoes, and with full makeup and hairstyle.
~ Music ~ The music for each of the dances will be made available on the website shortly.
~ Father Daughter Recital Dance ~ Take the opportunity to dance in the recital with your daughter to create a memory that she will not forget! There is still time to join the dance! The next practice is as follows: ANY DANCERS AGES 6+: June 6th from 11 - 12:30 (with Miss Erin) - ANY DANCERS 6& UNDER: June 6th from 10:00 - 11:00 (with Miss Brandi)
~ Recital Program Messages of Love and Ads ~ Available for purchase for a LIMITED time are Messages of Love - a special dedication to your dancer that will be placed in the program for a beautiful keepsake. It is just $15 for message only, and $30 for a message with a picture of your dancer. Please see the front desk to order no later than May 29th. Also, have a business that you would like to advertise to over 1000 people? Place an ad in the recital program! Just $75 for a 1/4 page ad, and $150 for a 1/2 page ad. Please see the front desk to submit your artwork and business card! Also, a great idea would be to take out an ad for an ENTIRE class, and to split the cost amongst the parents. Just submit a picture of the whole class along with a message from all the parents, and you have an instant memory of your child along with all of their friends in their recital dance. Be creative!!!
~ Performance Pictures ~ We will have our amazing photography studio on hand, Artistry Foto, to take professional action shots during the recital performances! Please stop by their table in the lobby of the recital location the day of the recital to get the login information to view and purchase action shots of your dancer!
~ Flowers & Refreshments ~ For your convenience, we will be providing flowers for you to purchase the day of the recital at Colony High School. We will also have refreshments sold before each performance, and also the day of the rehearsal.

 MOST COMMONLY ASKED RECITAL QUESTIONS:

“WHERE IS THE REHEARSAL?”
The on-stage rehearsal will be held at Colony High School in Ontario. Please remember that this is NOT a dress rehearsal.  All dancers must come in Hot Pink 2009 Recital Shirt & Black bottoms (you can purchase from studio) and don’t forget your dance shoes.  One parent per dancer allowed at rehearsal.  Hair should be up and away from face.

"WHAT TIME SHOULD WE ARRIVE AT THE THEATRE THE DAY OF THE SHOW?”
All dancers must arrive, in full costume and make-up, 30 minutes before the show time the day of the show.  Dancers please be ON-TIME – the Show WILL START ON-TIME.  This gives all dancers time to get to their dressing rooms, familiarize themselves with the backstage area and warm up for the performance.  Enter through the back side of the theater – signs will be posted – for backstage assignment.

“SHOULD DANCERS WEAR MAKE-UP?”
Absolutely!  Dark blush, Red lips, and eyemakeup to your liking (preferably heavy). 

“IS IT ALL RIGHT TO SHARE MAKE-UP?”
The answer seems obvious, but you would be surprised at how much germ sharing goes on backstage.  Every dancer, even the little ones, should have their own make-up, brushes and bobby-pins.  It is good to put their belongings in a special box or bag to show to the dressing room helper.

“CAN WE BRING FOOD BACKSTAGE?”
We suggest that all dancers have a healthy snack and drink for the duration of the time that they will be backstage.  Please avoid snacks and drinks that stain!

“DURING THE RECITAL WHY CAN’T I TAKE PICTURES OR VIDEO?”
The bright lights from flash photography IS a distraction and a hazard to the dancers.  Individual and group photos will be taken prior to the recital at the studio.  Schedule will be provided.  A professional videographer will be taping the show.  Please enjoy the show – without worrying about taping it or upsetting someone behind you by holding up your camera.

“DURING THE RECITAL WHY CAN’T WE TAKE OUR CHILD FROM BACKSTAGE AFTER THEY ARE FINISHED DANCING?”
As a courtesy to the performers and the audience, and to ensure the safety of your child they will not be released until after the show to a parent or guardian.  Just sit back and enjoy the show.

“WHO WILL HELP MY CHILD CHANGE BACKSTAGE IF THEY HAVE MORE THAN ONE DANCE?”
All teachers will be back stage to assist – we also have preselected volunteer moms that will be in each room.  You may also go into the dressing rooms to help with changes (One parent only please)
